Scruffles' Devlog 7 - 0.16.0 News!



Sup, folks!

With version 0.15.0 nearing its completion, I've begun to plan out version 0.16.0. 

 In terms of gameplay content, it's going to be very small. One or two Main Events kind of small. 

 That said, I am planning of doing a lot of internal work on the game. So what does that mean?

  • Cleaning up some code, for one. That shit's a mess, and I need to do it for my own sanity and such to make it easier for me to read, haha. This shouldn't affect anything, as I'm not changing any actual code, just making it easier for my ass to deal with.
  • More menu work as well. I want to add in new backgrounds to many of the plain menus.
  • Zeke's Jam Session. I finally want to get that back up and running without it crashing when I add new songs.
  • The overlapping issues with the hint UI on the sandbox screens.
  • Main Event pacing. I want to have my daily counter actually mean something, and that means adding in having a certain amount of days to pass in between the Main Events, regardless of whether or not the other requirements have been met. This is a huge change, and I want to gauge what folks think of this before i go ahead and make this change first though. It's something that I have actually added to a couple of the Main Events in Chapter 2, as well as something similar to one of Rose's Chapter 2 events. This was originally planned to be a thing starting on Chapter 2, but I've been on the fence about it for QoL reasons.
  • Catching up on bug fixes and grammatical/visual errors that I have missed, or neglected to fix because of my own laziness and/or IRL time restrictions.
  • Possible restructuring of the character screens. They are a relic of terrible early design choice back when I was just figuring it all out.
  • Repeatable lewds for many of the lewd events that aren't choice based. Not all of them due to story/location reasons, but I don't see why a bunch of them can't have their own repeatables.

Additionally, I would like to hear from you all about any QoL/UI stuff you'd like to see added to Detached! I can't promise that I can or will add them all as I am a coding scrub and am barely stumbling along in making this game, but I know that there's always room to grow!
